Date: Tuesday 10th March 2015

Time: 5.30-7.30pm

Venue: British Business Centre, BCCT Office, 7th Floor 208 Wireless Road (Ploenchit BTS Station exit 5)

Topic: Common Issues for SMEs in Thailand

Cost: THB100 for members including coffee, tea and biscuits. This event is open to BCCT members only.

Overview:

The BCCT is seeking ways to improve the focus and service offered to SME members.
Initially, rather than select one presenter, the first session will seek to identify (and possibly answer) a range of topics. Those BCCT Member companies offering services in those areas are welcome to attend and form an informal panel to answer any queries. The reason for this is to avoid seeming to be promoting any one company over others and to ensure all get a chance to present their company services. The aim is to inform SME members – not to sell to them. All participating will have the opportunity to circulate their company details to all attending and thus be able to present their services after the event.

Our first meeting on Tuesday 10th March will be aimed at all SMEs and be entitled “Common Issues for SMEs in Thailand”. Hopefully this will allow members to highlight concerns that they have. This will allow us to focus on more specific issues raised as concerns at future meetings and to do so in a way that can prioritise issues seen as being of greater importance

Some of the issues that we hope to cover in some way or another during the year are:

Visas and work permits
Board of Investment
Accounting and auditing
Taxation (includes PIT CIT VAT withholding taxes and stamp duty)
Buying/leasing property
Legal
Employment law and human resources
Customs and import/export
Healthcare (doctors, dentists, opticians, hospitals, healthcare for children, health insurance, Thai social security)
Banking
Education (Thai schools, international schools, universities, Thai language schools)

Dates for the rest of the year are planned for the second Tuesday of the following months – March, May, July, September and November in 2015.
