Flower Power @ KU DE TA Bangkok – Thursday 21st August 2014

KU DÉ TA Bangkok’s This is House presents:

A night of Peace & Music with FLOWER POWER.
Join us to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the Woodstock Festival and express your anti-war attitude with love for the underground house music.

The Woodstock Music & Art Fair—informally, the Woodstock Festival or simply Woodstock was held on August 1969 and is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in music history.

The festival was remarkably peaceful given the number of people and the conditions involved so it became associated with the hippie and anti-war movements.
The event had a strong sense of social harmony produced by the quality music, the overwhelming mass of people who expressed themselves through bohemian dress, liberated behavior and free spirit that together contributed to what was one of the most influential cultural events of the 20th century.

After the concert, Max Yasgur who owned the site of the event, saw it as a victory of peace and love. He spoke of how nearly half a million people filled with potential for disaster, riot, looting and catastrophe, spent the three days with music and peace on their minds. He stated, “If we join them, we can turn those adversities that are the problems of the world today into a hope for a brighter and more peaceful future…”

DJs Denis Beyer, Zeek Kaboom and Alex iM!X in collaboration with Art photographer Olga Volodina, will attempt to recreate that spirit of Woodstock with a blend of exquisite eclectic sounds and art performances. The ultimate goal is to create a unique atmosphere where both guests and organizers will have a memorable synesthetic experience.

Artist’s profiles:
Denis Beyer is the founder of “Sunday’s Spectacle”, a unique afternoon event taking place at Viva 8 @ Chatuchack – an open air bar at one of the world’s largest outdoor flea market. Since 2011 he has been introducing his downtempo, deep-house and limp-wiggling “Bumm-Zig-Zack-Zig’s” sets to all music lovers and JJ-market-ambers. As a Dj and producer, Denis Beyer aka Dj Redoo, started in 1997 on the German Hip-Hop scene in the group “Echorausch”. Although a drastic career change has evolved him to become the co-founder and chief-designer of a very successful eyewear brand PLAYN, he has never lost his contact with music and plays regular DJ sets at Glow club.
