Quince, an eatery & bar unlike any other, welcomes back guest chef Mario Hekke from the island of Mallorca, Spain, for an unforgettable week of Mediterranean delights. Using imported and local spring/summer seasonal ingredients, Mario Hekke – Chef/owner of Sa Sal Restaurant, in Porto Cristo, Mallorca – will bring you the astonishing flavours of his hometown and the finest dining experience. Chef Mario will serve special Mediterranean classics, such as his well-known accompaniment for lunch and dinner “Pa Amb Oli” – bread with olive oil, garnished with jamon iberico, rocket salad, tomato pesto, parmesan and pine nuts – and many more splendid and delicately created dishes.
This special week of the finest Mediterranean classics from our passionate Mallorcan guest chef, Mario Hekke, will be at Quince for lunch and dinner, January 17th–25th 2014.
Quince – Eatery & Bar’s market kitchen serves a pan-Mediterranean cuisine in an unfussy and vibrant atmosphere, with a contemporary and retro inspired cocktail list and a very unique wine cellar; particularly wines from Spain and France. The drinks and wines here are given special care and attention, as is the crafting of the food menu which includes permanent signature dishes as well as daily menus.
Since its opening in July 2012, Quince has been inviting international guest contributors, chefs and mixed drinks creators to give to the Bangkok dining scene new experiences and insights from around the world whilst keeping a very locally sourced approach. Eating at Quince, you know exactly what kind of life, say, that pig or that fennel had, and where they come from.
Quince is located in Sukhumvit, in a 1950s classic house style from times when fields and canals were stretched out far far away. Quince’s nostalgia for days when farming and cooking were personal, feels harmonious with the building’s past. Lovingly restored, Quince’s now contemporary homey feel, offers a welcomed respite from the hustle and bustle at the top of the soi.
