Run & Ride for Children’s Chance 2014, the charity mini marathon-cycling event, has been organized for November 29, 2014 to support theNew Life Foundation for underprivileged and financially troubled children in need of bone marrow transplantation and those suffering from scoliosis.Statistics reveal that there are an increasing numberof children in Thailand suffering from these conditions but unable to afford the necessary treatment. Every year, these underprivileged children are left to grow up with a poor quality of life. They have no choice but to wait in the hope of receivingfinancial support. Unfortunately, someof these childrendie before they reach a reasonable age. The following children are at risk:
• Children with congenital heart disease
• Children in need of bone marrow transplantation
• Children with scoliosis
However, after treatment, these children canhave a new life.
The Samitivej New Life Foundation was established in 2010 to provide access to medical treatment for underprivileged children suffering from the above 3 conditions.All proceeds from 2013’s inaugural Run & Ride for Children’s Chance were donated to help children with heart disease. Attracting more than 700 riders and runners,the charity event was a huge success.
This year, on Saturday, November 29, 2014, the Run & Ride for Children’s Chance 2014 will beheld to again raise money from entry fees,with all proceeds to be donated to the New Life Foundation to support children in need of bone marrow transplantation and those suffering from scoliosis, so that they“will have a new life.”
