Wine Journey Pop Up at the Rooftop at The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok – Friday 26th April 2019

The Pop Up Wine Journey held every last Friday of the month at The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok will move up to a new venue on the 30th floor rooftop of the hotel.

The usual venue for this popular Friday evening event is The Glaz Bar, and this will be the first time it has been held on the rooftop, allowing guests to enjoy the spectacular city views as they sip their wine.

The Pop Up Wine Journey will uncork international sparkling wines from Austria, Italy and France, selected by the hotel sommelier, with the wines being served together with canapés and cold cuts.

Four very distinctive types of free-flow sparkling wines are being served.

Claus Preisinger Ancestral St Laurent 2017, from Burgenland, Austria,is a pét-nat, or pétillant naturel, a natural wine that has been made with minimal intervention from the winemaker.

Drusian Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Extra Dry NV, from Veneto, Italyis a charmat wine, in which the second fermentation takes place in a pressure tank,rather than in the bottle.

For the traditional bottle fermented bubbly there is a Frederic Lornet Cremant de Jura Vieilles Vignes Brut NV, from Jura, France.

Andre Beaufort Rose Brut Polisy 2012, from Champagne in France, is the style of pink champagne produced by the saignee method, in which the wine is in contact with the red grape skins for only a few hours
