Ricoh announces official supplier partnership with Amata Friendship Cup
Ricoh teams up with the Amata Friendship Cup to provide world class office equipment as Amata Spring Country Club prepares to welcome world stars.
Ricoh, one of Japan’s most successful multinational companies empowering digital workplaces using innovative technologies and services, has joined forces with the Amata Friendship Cup to ensure that the competition runs efficiently on all fronts. Building on the company’s rich history with golfing events, having been the title sponsor of the Ricoh Women’s British Open since 2007, the partnership sees Ricoh align not only with one of the most unique events in world golf, but also some of the biggest stars of the men’s and women’s games in both Thailand and Japan.
Welcoming five male professionals, five female professionals, one male amateur and one female amateur on both Team Thailand and Team Japan, the Amata Friendship Cup will see a total of 28 matches played over three days of competition. On Day 1 and 2, Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd December, four mixed pair foursome matches will be played in the morning followed by four mixed fourball matches in the afternoon, before the final day’s play on Sunday 23rd December sees 12 singles matches tee-off, with male and females playing their professional or amateur counterparts.
The unique format will welcome some of the best players in the world from both the men’s and women’s game, including 2-time Major winner Ariya Jutanugarn, LPGA Tour winners Moriya Jutanugarn and Nasa Hataoka, PGA Tour winner Satoshi Kodaira and legends of Thai golf, Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Thongchai Jaidee.
David Townend, Tournament Director and General Manager of Amata Spring Country Club, commented, “As our planning of the Amata Friendship Cup comes to a close, we are very happy to be working alongside Ricoh. They have done amazing work with the Ricoh Women’s British Open, and are synonymous with golf in the region. The companies roots, in Japan, alongside their prevalence in Thailand, makes them a perfect fit for the event, and they share our respect and gratitude towards the special relationship between the Nations of Thailand and Japan.”
The Amata Friendship Cup is dedicated to creating a fun, exciting, and welcoming event for golf fans of all ages. Tickets are on sale now, with all ticket buyers in November being entered into a lucky draw to be one of 8 people to experience a unique golf clinic with one of the players, as well as receiving a signed golf cap.
