Thai provinces extend ban on alcohol sales

This post is also available in: English

Provincial governors throughout Thailand have extended their respective bans on the sale of alcoholic beverages.

While most provinces have been under an alcohol ban for more than one week, many of the orders originally issued had been due to expire before or on April 20.

In recent days, most provinces have now extended their alcohol ban to April 30.

Late on Thursday, the governor of Chiang Mai announced the extension of the alcohol ban to April 30, while Surat Thani, Krabi and Trat have also recently announced their alcohol bans would also be extended.

Some provinces are yet to make an announcement regarding an extension to alcohol bans but it is highly likely any ban will be extended to April 30 for all provinces nationwide.

Bangkok’s alcohol ban is officially due to end on April 20 with any announcement regarding a possible extension likely to be made in the coming days.

Here’s when the alcohol ban will end in your province.
