Such was the rapturous reception that Musical Director maestro Michael England received here on his previous two visits, he now returns to the Thailand Cultural Centre for a third consecutive year to entertain Bangkokians once again with a glittering show focusing on the genres of the rock-musical and jukebox-musical.

Three celebrated West End London vocalists will take to the stage with him this time – Jenna Lee-James, Rachel Wooding, and Oliver Tompsett. Glaswegian Lee-James first made a name for herself locally as Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz. She subsequently became active internationally, taking part in a Scandinavian and USA Arena Tour of Queen: A Symphonic Rock Spectacular. Similarly for Wooding who has enjoyed success nationally in Saturday Night Fever/ Apollo Theatre and Jersey Boys/ Prince Edward Theatre, whilst also touring Germany with Starlight Express and the USA with Spirit of the Dance. Tompsett has appeared in Wicked/ Apollo Theatre and Rock of Ages/ Shaftesbury Theatre, also earning a reputation recently as an actor in the movie The Hard Way.

Mamma Mia! Overture will begin this evening’s varied setlist, and ABBA’s enduring crowd favourites will also close out the show as an encore. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 1971 stage-hit Jesus Christ Superstar is often cited as one of the first groundbreaking rock-musicals, with showstoppers I Don’t Know How To Love Him & Heaven On Their Minds being complemented here with his equally loved Buenos Aires (from Evita). Chess has also stood the test of time as a classic, with I Know Him So Well & the aptly programmed One Night In Bangkok leading into the irresistible Grease Medley.

The climax of proceedings will be a sequence from We Will Rock You – featuring Queen’s Radio Ga Ga, Somebody To Love, and We Are The Champions – rounding off an evening of high octane, top-class entertainment. Quite aside from purely musical delights, star Michael England is moreover known for his entertaining repartee from the podium in between numbers – don’t miss this opportunity to see him in action once more!
