An Island for Beach Lovers

The closest resort island to Pattaya and Bangkok, this sweet island attracts a variety of backpackers, weekend Bangkokians and holiday makers from all over the world. Its charm and appeal is wide and, unlike nearby Koh Chang, its foot passengers only when accessing this island by ferry.

Samet has two key beaches, one pretty much walkable from the ferry, while the second is a short taxi drive. However there are many, many beach locations and resorts to be found for the adventurer.

Being a National Park there is a fee for visiting the island. 40 baht for Thai and 200 baht for foreigners. Ferry crossing from Ban Phe beach in Rayong is 100 baht return and there is parking for cars available at a very reasonable rate.
